Penticton Search and Rescue asks travellers to be prepared before braving backroads

With Highway 97 closed for the foreseeable future due to the Bald Range wildfire, drivers are being directed to take alternate routes, with the rough terrain catching some by surprise.
DriveBC is currently advising drivers to take either Highway 33 to get to Kelowna, or, as long as they are not a commercial vehicle driver, to use the unpaved backcountry 201 Forest Service Road.
