Young rail passengers to keep half-price railcard fares for longer

More than 70,000 young people a year will be able to keep half-price rail travel for longer under new rules that extend the validity of the 16-17 Saver railcard.From 17th August 2026, the railcard will remain valid for a full 12 months from the date of purchase, rather than expiring when the holder turns 18.
