Kitchener relaunches task force to help local businesses impacted by trade war
With the new 50 per cent tariffs creating economic uncertainty for many local businesses, the City of Kitchener is reintroducing a task force to bring support. The Tariff and Trade Task Force was originally launched by the city back in 2025 to mitigate the impact of 25 per cent U.S. tariffs. Mayor Berry Vrbanovic says with the new tariffs disrupting trade relations, it’s time to ramp up the support for local manufacturers.
