RCMP: Island resident reports losing $600K in cryptocurrency scam

Scammers continue to strike Parksville Qualicum Beach residents.
According to Oceanside RCMP, a resident reported losing $600,000 to an online advertisement promoting a cryptocurrency scheme allegedly recommended by a politician on June 23. The scam was among 323 complaints received by the Oceanside RCMP the week of June 22 to June 28.
