Rainfall leads to increased evacuation requests on West Coast Trail

As a result of heavy rainfall, sections of the West Coast Trail are impassable, leading to an increased number of evacuation requests from Parks Canada’s Visitor Safety Team.
With more rain expected over Wednesday, July 29, creeks and rivers are running high, and hikers are recommended to delay their trip until at least Thursday, July 30, unless they are “fully prepared and self-sufficient,” with adequate supplies and rain gear.
