Nanaimo’s Katzberg captures hammer throw gold at Glasgow Commonwealth Games

Olympic and world champion hammer thrower Ethan Katzberg is a golden boy yet again.
Katzberg captured a gold medal in hammer throw at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland setting a Commonwealth Games record with an 80.97-metre effort on Monday, July 27 at EDF Scotstoun Stadium.
Joining Katzberg on the podium, Cyprus’ Iosif Kesidis who took silver, and fellow Canadian Rowan Hamilton, who captured bronze.
