Many Clinton and area residents given go-ahead to go home Saturday

Residents of the entire Village of Clinton, and many of the residents in Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) Area “E,” will be able to return home on Saturday, Aug. 15, as several evacuation orders issued in response to the Pear Lake wildfire are being downgraded to evacuation alert as of 8 a.m. Saturday.
The announcement was made during an online public information session on Friday (Aug. 14) co-hosted by the TNRD and the Village of Clinton.
