Re: Concerns raised over permissive tax exemptions at Nanaimo council table, Aug. 12
To the editor,
I was surprised that the Vancouver Island Real Estate Board office on Metral Drive was successful in their application to Nanaimo council for a permissive tax exemption, saving them $27,000 in property taxes per year.
Checking out the criteria for this significant award I found it difficult to see how VIREB met the qualifications.
