Central Saanich incident prompts fine from WorkSafe BC

Over July, WorkSafeBC handed out just over $33,150 in fines to three Vancouver Island contractors for a number of incidents, including one that left a worker seriously injured after being struck by an excavator.
On July 28, Arise Roofing was handed a $2,732.94 fine after inspectors found three workers, one of whom was a representative of the company, were on a sloped roof with no fall protection, exposing the workers to fall risks of up to 7.6 metres, in Central Saanich.
