Alberni Valley wildland firefighters deploy to Merritt

A wildland fire crew from Cherry Creek Volunteer Fire Department in Port Alberni has been sent to Merritt to help with fires burning in that region.
Captain Wes Kovacs will serve as engine boss of Engine 33, a wildland-equipped fire truck from CCFD. Lieutenant Serena Pistotnika and firefighter Tyler Cheetham round out the Cherry Creek team.
