Hope Motor Hotel headed for demolition after unanimous council vote

After a unanimous council vote on Monday (Aug. 10), it looks like the Hope Motor Hotel’s days are numbered.
The infamous building has been the source of countless fines and complaints in the past few years, with Mayor Victor Smith explaining that the District of Hope is now at its breaking point.
“We need to do something,” said Smith, adding that the owner has been less than responsive to previous communication from the district.
“They’ve had lots of chances.”
