Memorial Day observances planned this weekend around Long Beach area

Since 1868, the United States has honored people who died while serving in the armed forces on Memorial Day, previously known as Decoration Day. This year's observance is Monday, May 28. Activities related to Memorial Day in the Long Beach area this weekend include: Forest Lawn Long Beach,1500 E. San Antonio Drive, hosts its annual Memorial Day event from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday.
