Officer hit and killed by semitruck driver in Utah County, police say

A Santaquin police officer was hit and killed by a semitruck driver Sunday morning, according to Spanish Fork Police, Fire & EMS.The Utah Highway Patrol announced that Interstate 15 has been closed down, both northbound and southbound, at south Payson, and that drivers can expect “major” delays. Spanish Fork Police, Fire & EMS advised drivers to go toward West Mountain to get into Santaquin via back roads.A news conference is scheduled to be held at noon Sunday.In a post on X
