Iga Swiatek achieves negative record in Montreal loss to Jessica Pegula

Iga Swiatek, 22, was broken 10+ times in a match for the first time in her career during her Montreal semifinal against Jessica Pegula. On Saturday, Swiatek lost her service 11 times as Pegula upset the Pole 6-2 6-7 (4) 6-4. Previously, Jelena Ostapenko and newly-retired Anett Kontaveit came close to breaking Swiatek 10 times in a match. At the 2020 Australian Open, Swiatek was broken nine times by Kontaveit and the Pole also lost her service nine times when she met Ostapenko in Dubai last year.
