Why Killington Is Closing Early This Year

After a fantastic season out East, Killington is shutting down its lifts. The Vermont ski area had planned to keep daily operations running through May 11 and run lifts on weekends till 5 p.m. after that, according to a post on the mountain's social media. Days after announcing that, the resort was forced to close for a couple of days to preserve the snowpack and allow the grooming team to freshen things up a bit.
