Is Luis Campusano a part of the Padres’ future? President of baseball operations says he is. “He’s going to be in our mix next year, for sure,” Preller said last month, per Jeff Sanders of the San Diego Union-Tribune. “I’m hoping his experiences this year are going to help him overall as a player.”
Those words don’t align with the club’s actions, as they haven’t shown much faith in him. Campusano was a top 100 prospect a few years ago.
