Giants Trade Robbie Ray To Padres

The Padres are getting some direly needed rotation help. On Monday, they announced the acquisition of left-hander Robbie Ray from the division-rival Giants in exchange for pitching prospect Miguel Mendez and shortstop prospect Joniel Hernandez. The two clubs will reportedly split the remainder of Ray’s salary. Since Ray and Mendez are both on their respective organizations’ 40-man rosters, no corresponding 40-man moves were needed.Ray, 34, gives the Friars some much-needed stability
