NASCAR expected to make surprising changes to practice in 2026

NASCAR is set to change the practice format in the Cup Series. Starting at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, NASCAR is expected to double how much practice time Cup Series teams get most weeks, as reported by The Athletic's Jordan Bianchi. Several within NASCAR have pushed for more on-track time.The sport would increase practice to one 50-minute session instead of two groups of 25 minutes each. This would give NASCAR teams and drivers an extra 25 minutes of practice time. According to Bianchi, NASCA
