Rockets Likely To Decline Fred VanVleet Team Option To Offer Multiyear Deal

The Houston Rockets are likely to decline Fred VanVleet's team option and sign the guard to a multiyear deal at a lower annual salary, according to Marc Stein and Jake Fischer of The Stein Line.
The Rockets agreed to move back the deadline on picking up the team option to June 29.
VanVleet would be owed $44.9 million next season if the Rockets pick up the option.
VanVleet previously stated that he hopes to remain with the Rockets.
