2025: The Year of North Carolina - Symbols that shape the Tar Heel State

2025 is designated as the 'Year of North Carolina'. In an effort to celebrate the state's character, lawmakers decided to celebrate all existing state symbols, instead of introducing new ones this year. State symbols must be distinctly North Carolina and ideally, something unique to the state.
