Tentative deal reached to modify New York’s discovery reform law

Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie told reporters in Albany on Tuesday that lawmakers had reached a tentative agreement to modify the state’s 2019 discovery reform law, which currently mandates that prosecutors promptly share evidence in criminal cases.State legislators have spent months negotiating with Gov.
