Wood Fire Thursday Afternoon in Attala

At about 2:30 PM, the Attala County Fire Department was notified of a Wood Fire on 2101 “Stonewall Rd” near Ethel. An Entergy crew was reportedly on scene when the fire began, and it is believed that a downed power line was the cause.
The fire covered roughly 2 acres in a thicket with limited access points for ground crews. A quick line was established around the perimeter in hopes that it would hold until Forestry arrived to handle further preventative measures.
