NEW ORLEANS — The newly elected Pope Leo XIV has ties to Louisiana, a New Orleans historian and genealogist said about the first pope born in the United States of America on Thursday. Born in Chicago, former Cardinal Robert Prevost has connections to the New Orleans Creole community.
