Port of Long Beach awards scholarships to students, grants to organizations

The Port of Long Beach awarded 39 Long Beach college and high school students $54,750 in scholarships to those interested in pursuing international trade and goods movement careers. Scholarship recipients were honored at the fifth annual Celebrating Education event, which was held at the Long Beach Marriott, May 14. The seaport is a gateway for trans-Pacific trade with 175 shipping lines which connects Long Beach to 217 other ports.
