Kawakami, Belatti face off in lieutenant governor’s race

What appeared to be a clear path to the lieutenant governor’s office for Kauai Mayor Derek Kawakami suddenly became competitive in May when state Rep. Della Au Belatti dropped out of a long-shot run for Congress to take on Kawakami instead.
