On this day in history: Apollo 16 launches to the moon

(CBS) - On this day in history, April 16, 1972, the Apollo 16 blasted off from Cape Kennedy, Florida.
Astronauts John Young and Charles Duke spent a record-breaking 71 hours on the moon. The astronauts spent 20 minutes outside of their spacecraft during which they walked, took pictures and drove an electric car over the lunar terrain.
Command module pilot Thomas Kenneth Mattingly remained in orbit while his colleagues collected more than 200 pounds of rock and soil from the moon.Apollo 16's miss
