(CBS) - On this day in history, April 16, 1972, the Apollo 16 blasted off from Cape Kennedy, Florida.
Astronauts John Young and Charles Duke spent a record-breaking 71 hours on the moon. The astronauts spent 20 minutes outside of their spacecraft during which they walked, took pictures and drove an electric car over the lunar terrain.
