Honoring 911 dispatchers through National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — The second week in April annually marks National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, honoring the commitment and service of telecommunications.
Although what they do is behind the scenes, Fort Wayne Dispatchers describe the job as "first, first responders" or "the first voice" people hear in an emergency. Every day can be different, answering phone calls and connecting people in need.
