FWPD gives update on downtown bike unit

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) -- With the weather getting warmer, it is becoming more common to see residents walking and biking around downtown Fort Wayne.Some of the bicyclists also happen to be officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD).The FWPD made its downtown patrol unit -- commonly known as the bike unit -- a full-time division in 2019 that has helped the department address concerns and complement a growing downtown area.The bike unit consists of five officers including Sgt.
