Fort Wayne police investigate shooting just northeast of downtown Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) A man phoned police early Friday morning to say he had been shot according to a Fort Wayne Police Department spokesperson.
The shooting took place just after 5 a.m. in the 1100 block of Tecumseh Street near Lake Avenue. When police arrived on the scene they found the man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Circumstances surrounding the shooting are not yet known, but police say there's no threat to the public.
