Buffalo man sentenced after lying in connection with fentanyl death

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- A Buffalo man will spend the next three years and five months in prison after he lied to protect a drug dealer whose fentanyl killed a victim in 2019, the U.S. Attorney's Office announced.
Roman Lapp, 50, provided heroin/fentanyl/acetyl fentanyl to an individual after he obtained it from Steven Gonzalez in June 2019. The individual took the drugs, overdosed and died.
Lapp lied to the Buffalo Police Department and federal law enforcement about who he got the fentanyl from.
