Bandits broadcaster John Gurtler wins NLL's Tom Borrelli Award

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- The Buffalo Bandits’ John Gurtler won the National Lacrosse League’s Tom Borrelli Award for Media Person of the Year on Monday for the first time in his career.Gurtler has called more than 400 straight games as the voice of the Bandits, a position he has held since 2004, on WWKB-AM, ESPN and TSN broadcasts.Gurtler has also served as an adjunct professor at Canisius University and previously did play-by-play for the Buffalo Sabres.
