Authorities release name of Prairieville stabbing suspect; victim is suspect's mother

PRAIRIEVILLE — The Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office has released the name and charges of a suspect in the fatal Prairieville stabbing that happened Saturday afternoon. Deputies said the stabbing happened around 12 p.m. and left one woman dead on Misty Oak Court.The suspect, Dillon Marshall, 23, is charged with second-degree murder and aggravated assault and was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail.Authorities said the victim in the stabbing is 48-year-old Shanitra Marshall.
