Austin-area track stars grab gold on Day 1 of UIL championships
AUSTIN (KXAN) — Lago Vista's Swayde Griffin and Burnet's Victor Aviles won double golds on the first day of the UIL track championships Thursday at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin.Griffin won the Class 4A boys 110-meter hurdles with a time of 13.62 seconds, edging out Stafford's Bradley Lowman by two-hundredths of a second. Griffin picked up his second win in the 200 by a slightly larger cushion, finishing in 21.15 and five-hundredths of a second ahead of Dallas Kimball's Camrin Jackson.MO
