Alpharetta approves North Point Mall redevelopment with proposed NHL arena

The Alpharetta City Council voted 4-3 to approve a massive redevelopment of North Point Mall featuring housing, hotels, restaurants, shops, parks and a proposed 20,000-seat arena. The arena still depends on the NHL awarding an expansion team to the market and choosing the North Point site.
