A flood warning for a glacier lake outburst is in effect until 7:45 a.m. Saturday, according to the National Weather Service in Juneau.
A second release from Suicide Basin has started and levels are predicted to continue to drop this afternoon. The agency predicts the Mendenhall River will crest likely between 9.8 and 10.3 feet sometime between 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. tomorrow, Oct. 2.
