It’s official: LA Coliseum and SoFi Stadium will share Olympic opening and closing ceremonies

The historic Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and the state-of-the art SoFi Stadium will share the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games, LA28 announced on Thursday, May 8.
Thursday’s announcement confirms what many leaders in the city and county have lobbied for and was part of L.A.’s 2017 bid — returning the Olympic ceremonies, and hopefully the lighting of the Olympic torch, to the iconic Coliseum in Exposition Park.
