Cal State Fullerton sets scoring record in season-opening rout of Caltech

FULLERTON — College basketball season openers are often mismatches, and this one certainly qualified.
Jaden Henderson scored 25 points and KJ Garris had 22 as the Cal State Fullerton men’s basketball team set a program scoring record in a 136-82 rout of an overmatched Caltech squad in the opener for both teams on Monday night at Titan Gym.
The 136 points is the most any Titans team has ever scored in a single game. The previous mark was 128, set in a 1972 game against Chapman.
