Inmate dies at Metropolitan Detention Center

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A Bernalillo County Metropolitan Detention Center inmate is dead despite staff's attempts to revive him. Steven Gurule, 33, was booked into MDC in January. Albuquerque man sentenced to prison for deadly house party shooting in 2021A spokesperson for MDC said Gurule was found unresponsive, and staff and medical personnel began life-saving measures. The state's Office of the Medical Investigator is determining the cause of death.
