Charges Against Comey, James Thrown Out as Judge Rejects 'Defective' Appointment of Halligan as US Attorney

"I conclude that all actions flowing from Ms. [Lindsey] Halligan's defective appointment, including securing and signing Ms. [Letitia] James's indictment, constitute unlawful exercises of executive power and must be set aside," U.S. District Senior Judge Cameron McGowan Currie wrote in an order disqualifying Halligan and dismissing without prejudice criminal charges against the New York attorney general and former FBI director James Comey.
