What time is the partial lunar eclipse on Aug. 27-28? Here's when to see the 96% 'blood moon'

A dramatic partial lunar eclipse will occur on Aug. 27-28, with almost the entire moon slipping into Earth's shadow. At its peak, at 12:12 a.m. EDT (0412 GMT) on Aug. 28, 96.2% of the lunar surface will be covered by Earth's dark umbral shadow, leaving only a slender portion of the moon directly illuminated by the sun. The rest of the lunar surface may take on an eerie reddish-orange hue, creating an impressive 'almost blood moon'. The eclipse will be visible from North and South America, Europe
