UK Government Puts Temporary Export Ban on $97.2 M. Rembrandt Painting

The United Kingdom’s government announced this week that it has put a temporary export ban on a Rembrandt painting valued at £71.7 million ($97.2 million).The painting in question is Rembrandt van Rijn’s Portrait of Catrina Hooghsaet (1657), which has been on view in the UK since the mid-18th century, according to a release.
