National beer and wine distributor files Chapter 11 bankruptcy

Republic National Distributing Company and 17 affiliates filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas on July 26. The Atlanta-based distributor listed between $500 million and $1 billion in assets against $1 billion to $10 billion in debts. The company sought going-concern sales of its remaining assets, operational wind-down, transition services agreements, and equity holder settlement approval.
