The health-care sector experienced significant gains during the week ending August 21, with the Health Care index rising more than 4% in the five trading days through that date. The primary catalyst was a clinical trial announcement released on August 19 by Moderna Inc. and Merck & Co. regarding their personalized mRNA cancer treatment in combination with Merck’s immunotherapy Keytruda.
The Phase 3 trial, designated INTerpath-001, evaluated a tailored cancer vaccine called intismeran
