Meta Ordered to Pay $567M in New Mexico Child Safety Case

A judge in New Mexico has ordered Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, to pay a massive $567 million penalty as part of a landmark trial. That amount is on top of the $375 million in damages imposed by a judge earlier this year who found Meta knowingly harmed children’s mental health on its platforms.
