Drewry WCI further rises in second consecutive week on rates hike
Drewry World Container Index rose 1 per cent for a second week to $4,339 per FEU, supported by higher Transpacific rates.Shanghai-New York rates jumped 10 per cent to $8,706, while Shanghai-Los Angeles rose 6 per cent to $6,244 as carriers used blank sailings.Asia-Europe rates declined; Suez, Hormuz, Panama, Asian port and Rhine disruptions continued to affect schedules and reliability.
