Cutty Sark DLR station to close for nearly a year to replace its escalators

Bad news for Greenwich, as Cutty Sark station on the DLR will close at the end of next month for nearly a year of work to replace its unreliable escalators.

The existing four escalators were installed when the station was built by City Greenwich Lewisham (CGL) Rail, the PFI that funded the extension to Greenwich and Lewisham and was responsible for its maintencance until their concession ended in 2021.
