A New Way to Expand the Youth Behavioral Health Workforce

Source: Association for Psychological ScienceIn spring 2026, students from the United States' first cohort of undergraduates majoring in child behavioral health walked across the stage to receive their diplomas from the University of Oregon. These students completed rigorous training as undergraduates that prepared them to enter the workforce in a new behavioral health role that is now eligible for a professional license in multiple states: Behavioral Health and Wellness Practitioner.
