Dick Cheney – a Jupiter Saturn fail

Dick Cheney, a dominant figure in US politics, Secretary of Defence under George H Bush and VP under George W Bushfrom 2001 to 2009, has died. He was a key architect of the “war on terror” after 9/11 and an early advocate of the disastrous invasion of Iraq in 2003. He later became a bitter critic of the Republican Party under Trump and was a long-standing advocate of Nato expansion into Eastern Europe, backing Ukraine’s bid in 2008. Born 30 January 1941 7.30 pm Lincoln, Ne
