Washington tightens Blackwell chip controls

Washington has moved to close a sensitive gap in its China technology controls after Trump administration officials concluded that overseas units of Chinese companies may have been able to buy Nvidia’s most advanced artificial intelligence chips without the export licences required for direct shipments to China.
