A cool and breezy start but plenty of sunny spells about as well as showers that will affect mostly northern and western coasts and hills, though some will drift further inland on the west to north-westerly wind. As the day progresses the winds will ease, though cloud will build and spells of rain will affect much of Scotland, northwest Ireland and parts of Northern Ireland. A fresher feeling day with highs at 14 to 19C.
